Captivity's Position

once in a cage
twice in a cage
thrice in a rage
‒each time
as morals fade
earthly foundations laid
for a fake spiritual façade

oh! the ways of a humanity-driven charade
control with a blade
better yet‒
through the bridesmaid
where eyes are veiled
by the seductive chambermaid
male and female‒
their bare nakedness
the palisade

then goes debts unpaid
betting of politics in motorcades

'give us what we need'

but there…right there
left to bleed
as they bend over the maid
‒blame it on a home invade
then attend churches man-made
go along with the masquerade
for votes…now paid

further against the wall
goes all‒
in easy persuade
choices become fewer
‒crimes go up a grade
selling self for upgrades
when that doesn't add a shade
selling the children‒
adds…in the back…another blade

then something has to awaken
in accolade
down, down, down
goes the abrade
as evil continues its gasconade

in comes the ultimate
in pay grade
the one many mix up‒
as in fairy tales and mermaids
the one who's hand
is like a grenade

all this freedom‒
given in renegade
gave way
in retrograde
has to be redefined‒
washed and remade
‒with the help
of a man-driven brigade
one already in degrade

sent by the One
who is anything
but a masquerade
He† is everything in 'made'
to the winds
He† serenades
to His† chariots, His† raging horses‒
His† very scent…persuades

no need to wonder‒
His† processional parade
‒all powerful
He† snaps chains on
then He† snaps chains off
‒logged in the books
a mere crusade
a leaping escapade

He† is the Almighty God†‒
He† is everything made
‒everything unmade

and His† shackles go
where He† deems the invade

(February 11, 2022)—‘Captivity’s Position’ was written November 29, 2021. I know that I’m guided when I write on my own. I hear David. It doesn’t matter that you don’t comprehend this. I have to keep reminding you because it is important that you know this. I was guided when writing ‘Captivity’s Position’. It is truth. Not a perception of what I ‘think‘ is the truth. It IS truth.
