‘Truth’s Dwelling Place’

Written February 29, 2024: ‘Truth’s Dwelling Place’….’The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them…..’―Matthew 23:1-12; Mark 12:38-40; Luke 20:45-47

Truth's Dwelling Place

you were given, freely
from the start
a Spirit
free from falsehood's paste

falling, living life posthaste
in the way
of the human race

you've been running your race
a bit turned…misplaced
up and down with the mace
all the way or sometimes in two-faced
doesn't really
describe the pace

it's time
to do an about face

the foundation
needs a bit of refurbishing
loving…more…truth's grace
spewing its taste
all over the base
making it common place

within you, embrace
the Spirit God† freely placed
free of a liar's lace
not found in boldface

waiting in growth
not to be displaced
awaken to this free deposit
of grace
set inside for you to brace
the simplicity
of a well-run race

for the given of a Spirit's grace
if returned as received
to its original sinless pace
makes all former falsehoods
worthy of credit in grace

then a new life embraced
preparing for a Judge†
in face to face

(February 29, 2024)—The third commandment given to Hermas. After, He led me to Matthew 23:1-12; Mark 12:38-40; and Luke 20:45-47…self-righteous condemned.

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to His disciples: ‘The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted in the marketplace and to have men call them ‘Rabbi.’ But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on Earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and He is in Heaven. Nor are you to be called ‘teacher,’ for you have one Teacher, the Christ. The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.’―Matthew 23:1-12; Mark 12:38-40; Luke 20:45-47
