‘Permission’

To be reborn, as Jesus said, you are not baptized in water but in the Spirit. This comes after you’ve died…for in order to be reborn, you must first die.

Permission

He† sits there waiting for you to say it
He's† giving you permission
–why don't you take it

He† stands there patiently–
His† hands thumbing
His† toes tapping
He† sits then stands again
He† paces...up and down, up and down

He† can't intervene
in frustration...He† waits
He† goes to His† Father†
tries to intercept
wants to intercept
but a mighty hand goes up

'an adult's bitter heart is still present'

so back to waiting
He† goes

He† watches, sends in the angel
the guide
hoping you'll see
–that breaking you down
is a matter of keep

the permission is granted–
fall to your knees
cry over all those horrible deeds
yell, curse, scream
curl into a ball–
hug, go on, hug those knees
sniffle, let all your crevices bleed
–wipe them on your sleeve
pucker them lips
suck air in deep
–go on and just breathe

look around, go ahead, look around
things are beginning to look differently
they seem...simple
maybe almost magical

go ahead, cry more if you need
go ahead, sniffle
pucker up them lips in pout

things, indeed, have changed
you are feeling your child-heart
you are granted permission
by He†...who is the Lord

in the depths of your scream
you called out His† name
you see....
that's what He† was waiting for

He† was waiting for:
the coming apart
of your adult heart
He† knows sincerity
only lives in the child heart
–that place where God†
wants you to turn...truly

when you get there–
He† knows you died...truly
for you called out–
now....
the crumbs of Jesus† comes in

it is the time–
for you to be redeemed
the beginning of your new birth
–a new baptism
when the Spirit† comes over you
and you become clean

patient...it's a slow process
for good reason
a child's first steps are careful
go too fast and you'll fall
–you'll have to restart it all

shh...slow, slow, slow
the Lord† is waiting
it's your choice to succeed
–all you have to do
is believe!
