‘A Beacon’

You MUST take action instead of trolling!

A sample from Book 10

  A Beacon

do you hear it–
ring, ring, ring
liberty does sing

through the tiniest notion
–every vocation
each unique imagination

one nation
stands for liberation
she's not a simulation
she's reality's verification–
there's ramifications
if tied by dictation

do you hear it–
ring, ring, ring
liberty does sing

no unification of nations
can match her situation
no militant formulation
can undermined her creation

she has limitations
push her motivation–
her wrath's determination
unveils against aggression

do you hear it–
ring, ring, ring
liberty does sing

all look upon her manifestation
for freedom's not suppression
it's an awakening sensation
unmatched by any's validation

she is liberation
the beacon of hope rendition
to all oppression
she is the united states of america–
under God†
she is one nation
to the world's population
she is their mandation–

being free is
God's† given human condition
not under bureaucracy regulation
not under controlled restriction
but through
the self's desire for liberation

do you hear it–
ring, ring, ring
liberty does sing

‘Leave It All Be’

Just Let the Children Learn!

A sample from Book 4

 Leave It All Be

ma' lord...be gone
your grace here...so wrong
―stayed on track
non-constant watching back
since I's young
no steady song sung
I's get use to a way
then thes' be's the day
some different mold of clay
readin' I's be laughin'

yes―there in the secon' grade
we's laugh...giggle
what fun we made

I can tell a book mighty fine
it had all stuck in my mind
then came the time
got me all out of line

yes...fourth grade it was
cuz books were a fuss
no longer my lust

I's a bit slow
but stories...they do go
I's 'member the row-boat
―that train that could go

readin' fast and all
―grades began to fall

if they'd just let it be
I'd have straigh b's

now...it's only f's
behind...my skills was left

I's didn't make through the res'
all those long tes'
too much of a reading mess

this way...that way
wish someone had just say
leave it all be
she's fine you see

I know...I know
beings here on the street
isn't good fa' me
but the truth be
I's still there
enjoying reading
in second grade

‘The Passion’

Where Is the Passion For Christ?

A sample from Book 2

  The Passion

we live in a closed fear
our laugh a bit queer
He† died on the cross—
so we may not be lost

we build a big house
we’re not treated like a mouse
He† was beaten by a strap—
releasing us from our trap

we worship the almighty green
it matters how we are seen
His† skin fell from his body—
while they stood laughing

we spend wanting the best
who cares about the rest
His† mother watched her son—
evildoers had their fun

we ridicule the less fortunate—
breed cruelty and hate
His† skin soaked in blood—
hitting the ground...raging flood

we spit the hungry in the face
carrying around a can of mace
He† wore a crown of thorns—
so we can be reborn

how much more can we take
how much more can we fake

He† forgave us for our sin—
how many prayers can we lend

Don’t Be Baffled By Today’s Politics!

A sample from Book 10

I don’t see why because they have been telling you how they are for years. I’m not as into the politics today as I was years ago. Things just seem to keep going in the down direction, and there’s way too many people arguing instead of doing.

I know in my own home the argument over politics was huge. Being in a mixed relationship didn’t help matters as all this black/white issues took center stage. I have never been a racist. I’m not privileged. This seemed not to register with my ex-boyfriend. It saddens me on how many people believe this B.S. There are many people who believe they are privileged. I’ve seen them. I’m glad I’m not one of them. What follows is part of the Introduction to my last book on politics, Book 10, in My 12-Book Series.

Don’t Fix What Ain’t Broken!

A sample from Book 4

That was my question as I went through year after year of constantly starting over as a teacher. Yes, there’s things broken with the American education system…but they are constantly trying to fix the wrong things.

The following is from the Introduction to my 4th Book in My 12-Book Series during my denial stage where I focused on everything outside of myself and my home instead of focusing on the important stuff. What I discovered will amaze you! The only thing I could do was write a book about it and offer simple solutions to what the higher-ups makes so complex.

Reading American History In Rhyme!

In order to understand what it means to be an American you have to actually study American history. The following is from the Introduction my 3rd Book in My 12-Book Series. As I stated below, this wasn’t my intention, but we do follow the path that God sets for us.

“How do we confront our past without destroying our own selves in the process? Just like the next person, we want to deny what we’ve done and move on without ever thinking about it again. But do we really come to terms with it? It is the year 2017. I’m sitting in yet another apartment. Apartment 714. It is strange. That number adds up to 12. That number can mean a lot of things like the 12 tribes in the Bible. The 12 months of the year. The 360. The chance to start fresh. A new year’s beginning.

A lot has happened in my life since this book was written. A lot has changed. Then, again, a lot remains the same.

My Focus On Politics

As I Lived In Denial and Isolation!

A sample from Book 2

You go back and review the past 10 years or so. The following is from Book 2 in My 12-Book Series. It was part of my denial stage when American politics took a front seat to what was happening beneath the surface.

“Writing about history, much less history in rhyme, was never my dream but something deep inside redirected my journey.

Throughout history, I’ve realized, poems live on pass the generations who wrote them. It is also our reality that America’s younger generations rather music than reading books. If you listen to their music—not just hear but listen—you’d realize that each verse is in rhyme. Lyrics are poetry. With this in mind, and as a former teacher, writing history in rhyme makes sense.
