‘Looking Within’

Men miss the point of what makes a woman special!

A sample from Book 10

 Looking Within

it's not to your treasures
you are bound
look carefully around‒
is your heart sound

quantity of possessions
do you measure
your worth
all your journey's identities‒
do you take pleasure
now...from your birth
is that the quality
your only creation

all your roads traveled
of life‒
are you still baffled
wishing‒
you were still
in the cradle
wishing‒
on no experiences
to tattle

is it no more a mystery
your back there history

for every lesson
comes a reason
for the next season

round and round
goes the merry-go-round
'til no more
you see the clown
never lost, never found
stuck in between
that round and round
not seeing the lesson
not rightfully sound

'til it comes from within
the stuck
always in begin
again and again

so sad at the end
feeling still in begin

‘Hands to Hold’

Is race going to continue to rule your life?

A sample from Book 10

 Hands to Hold

you come at me
you're not discrete
bold...unsure

maybe there's a gun in my hand
maybe I've some contraband

or maybe I just like hands in pocket
or wearing my earphones in my car
so I can answer this here phone
for this car absent of bluetooth–
protecting me and you

or maybe you're angry–
having a bad day
I pass your way
through your veins runs hate
so I become your play

I'm just like you‒
generation after generation
passed through
without obligations
to changing the view

–it all seems like voodoo
we both–
not really having a clue
‒taking it upon ourselves
get off that dusty shelf
change the view
so our kids
won't suffer too

maybe I do have a gun
–anger raging in stun
do you see inside of me
my hard history
maybe my hand shakes
though you can't see
–you're so angry
not seeing what's at stake

maybe I did some drugs–
stopping the pain
keeping from going insane
but soothing I didn't gain
all looks like a game
emotions adding to more pain

then you come along
thinking I'm a thug
you want to cut me down‒
stump me like a bug
without knowing the deal at home
why I'm here–
a gun...all alone

maybe don't yell
talk...love–
let it swell

instead of jail–
lead my soul to help
without making me
hate myself

I, too, want peace
between you and me

maybe instead of arrogance‒
show understanding
compassion

I don't want a free ride
just a reason...inside
not to cry

I am tough
I've got muscles, tats
my life has been rough
–crazy and all that
it doesn't mean
I'm just stuff
to pluck

a handshake
a hug

–that just might be
enough

I'm a human being
I don't mean to sting

just a little bitter
please, your anger–
could you reconsider

look at me for me
God's† child
making my way...like you
through the miles

–the past is gone
this is now
together–
we can make it all
worth while
if we just remain calm–
approach each other
in mild
without death coming in foul

‘Colorless Birds’

We’re all various shades of brown!

A sample from Book 10

 Colorless Birds

a failed adhesion
‒mixed hypercritical damnation
of all the hysteria‒
the misunderstood mystery
hundreds of years
still shed tears
still darkened fears

what was fought
so hard for
it doesn't seem
we came too far
even living
under the same stars
color‒
keeps bringing us back
‒justice lacked
white...black
heresy in a broken-down shack

tackle the government
‒greed's endowment
keeping
that stupid war's enlightenment
taking it's very commitment
back to days of judgment

where are the colorless birds
‒haven't you heard
that war ended
in a blood-soaked swirl
leaving this mixed-race girl
in a confused swirl

‒still an uneven world
lost in racial twirls

we're still paying tokens
‒what was broken
thought to be fixed
‒all should be mixed
still backwards
the clock tics

years and years
suffered pain
what did we gain
‒it's just insane
still playing
this black-white game

didn't king die
for a simple dream

to live in a time
where there is no color

just people
where each other
given no time to smother
no matter skin color
you're still my sister, my brother

honoring a man's life
doesn't give war the right
to bury the dream
‒words he openly screamed
leave hatred...difference behind
to each other
be kind

it's just time
stop banking on race
look into each other's face
see beauty's lace
of God's† amazing grace

You MUST take action instead of trolling!

A sample from Book 10

  A Beacon

liberty does sing

through the tiniest notion
–every vocation
each unique imagination

one nation
stands for liberation
she's not a simulation
she's reality's verification–

if tied by dictation

ring, ring, ring
liberty does sing

no unification of nations
can match her situation
no militant formulation
can undermined her creation

she has limitations
push her motivation–
her wrath's determination
unveils against aggression

do you hear it–
ring, ring, ring
liberty does sing

all look upon her manifestation
for freedom's not suppression
it's an awakening sensation
unmatched by any's validation

she is liberation
the beacon of hope rendition
to all oppression
she is the united states of america–
under God†
she is one nation
to the world's population
she is their mandation–

being free is
God's† given human condition
not under bureaucracy regulation
not under controlled restriction
but through
the self's desire for liberation

do you hear it–
ring, ring, ring
liberty does sing

‘Transformative Change’

Educational Reform: Nothing New Has Happened!

A sample from Book 4

 Transformative Change

things are done with all good intentions
there goes
america's lack of education

in the year 2000
the dumbing down
continued its endless round
all have lost concern
going to school
meant...all children had to learn

all have forgotten
it's not easy to teach―
some are hard to reach
all have forgotten
teaching's not for pay
but to help our young
make their own way

over sixty percent
of this destructive wick
―those in poverty
couldn't read a single lick
forty percent of the same
abandoned
this education game
their reason―
not at all lame
their teachers no longer care
their parents not willing to bear
―to graduate
why even dare
―passing each grade
wasn't rare

pushing them up
―better for a teacher's cup
to end this sorrow
a new scenario
for america's tomorrow
―more american children
for a faster diploma flow
president george w bush
offered a texas push

no child left behind
his posted sign
his slogan and promise
to quickly diminish

too many chiefs
―round and round
goes the wreath
out went―
competition of the best
in came
a constant evolving mess

accountability―
a hypotheses of reality
failed quite miserably
this change―
under bureaucracy's rug
it was swept

parents having a right―
their child's mind
still behind
to a new school
they're free to go
this conceptional insight
in texas―
proved right

from 1994 to 1998
58 to 76 percent
―third graders
even with their grade-level line
proved bush's advocate
improved
school management

america's liberal kite
―their dumbing down bite
wedged their fight

endless control
endless laws
they sank their claws
getting their way
no matter
how many unconstitutional flaws

from the right to kill
an unborn child
mile after mile
idiots gone wild
without parental intervention
children can make
their own decision
straight to the clinic
abortion―right to take life
the way of hypocrites
their whining fit

young adults under seventeen
no more driver's license
wiping out privileges clean
before age of twenty-one
no more spirits
consumption undone
still...at eighteen
for freedom
they can kill...die
with a machine gun

liberals fighting to prove
before the age of twenty-one
not yet fully grown
young minds
must be given time

every young adult
they demand
must follow
their every plan
the diploma-for-ever-young-woman-and-man
became their cause
so here it goes
―the unseen blow

all those who can
―those above the slow-moving clan
forced to be equal
oh! so simple
all those
so bright―so smart
pinned down
with a liberal-halting dart

no child left behind
grew a different kind of vine
a simple concept
they could never accept
complication...their invention
instead of a parent decision
more controlling
by every administration

no more higher-order thinking
our school won't be sinking

federal money
will be our honey
began the lust
for higher ranking
now the threats
continued dumping down
liberals kept
just a new way around
bush's easy conception
every child will read
a forced liberal interception
the department of education
―bureaucratic corruption
forever changed america's direction

instead of increasing the minds of children
water-down test
we do confess
our scores
no longer in stress
teachers with high standard
once forced their students
moved constantly forward
instead of backward
with challenging assignments
single control of their classroom
instead of individual ways
doing what liberals say

teachers now burned
―lower your standards
slow down your pace
don't make it hard

so all can move forward
no longer I want to see
in your records

a failing grade

assignments not turned in
on a test...comes an f
on the teacher's back
their fault
threaten to be sacked

children who struggle
now are lovable
we don't want to see
them stumble

or you'll be in trouble

new kind of administration
teaching―
now a miserable occupation

now here comes
the liberal bureaucratic climax
to all this crap
the intelligent...held back

for the mentally challenged
we now clap
teachers stabbed in the back
no more play

at age three
school every day
gone school-yard recess
lunch now
a disciplining quest

equalism―liberal fascism
their hidden sarcasm
turned bush's
no child left behind
into an american education crush

their dumbing down scheme
moslem ideology
lurking behind the screen
thrives
as american freedoms
slowly die
leaving all
asking why

‘To Save a Few’

Educating the Young: The Struggle Is Real!

A sample from Book 4

  To Save a Few

students we teach
―just want to guide them
set them assail
so they’ll flourish
never fail
but like a wooded trail
their path is blocked
their doors are closed
their heads are hard as rock
giving up...too lame
staying...sane

they’re from a flock of
I don’t give a damns
coming to a world of
I don’t understands
to help them is a curse
to ignore them...worst

you think you get in—
only an hour
they’re in your den

then they’re set loose
they’re heads’ in a noose

if we could see
above their anger
wipe away all the danger

if only to save a few
to wake up again
to the morning dew

Don’t Be Baffled By Today’s Politics!

A sample from Book 10

I don’t see why because they have been telling you how they are for years. I’m not as into the politics today as I was years ago. Things just seem to keep going in the down direction, and there’s way too many people arguing instead of doing.

I know in my own home the argument over politics was huge. Being in a mixed relationship didn’t help matters as all this black/white issues took center stage. I have never been a racist. I’m not privileged. This seemed not to register with my ex-boyfriend. It saddens me on how many people believe this B.S. There are many people who believe they are privileged. I’ve seen them. I’m glad I’m not one of them. What follows is part of the Introduction to my last book on politics, Book 10, in My 12-Book Series.
